/Several employees of former Florida home healthcare company Professional Medical Home Health have “have been indicted for their alleged participation in a $6.2 million Medicare fraud scheme”, South Florida Business Journal reports.
The employees “recruited patients for the defunct company and solicited and received kickbacks from the owners and operators of Professional Home Health in exchange for providing beneficiaries for home health services that were not medically necessary or provided.”
They also “falsified patient documents to support the fraudulent billing from Dec. 2008 through Feb. 2014. Medicare paid Professional Home Health more than $6.2 million for the fraudulent claims.”
