Last April, BlackBerry invested in NantHealth, in order to develop an application to connect doctors’ BlackBerrys with a NantHealth system that can analyze tumors and recommend treatment options. The service will be available early next year.

BlackBerry’s CEO, John Chen, is targeting healthcare and plans to double software revenue to $500 million by March 2016. Chen has been moving BlackBerry towards focusing on industries that require high security, such as banking, government and healthcare.
