DocPlanner, an online booking planner for healthcare appointments has raised $10 million in a Series B funding round.  This round was led by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The Polish startup raised a $1 million Series A funding round at the end of 2012 when it was operational in five European markets.

Private healthcare providers are the target market for DocPlanner. 7,000 healthcare providers are using the platform while their visitors are up to 7 million uniques per month.  The company claims 100,000 appointments booked per month. With the focus on patient engagement in the United States, a company like DocPlanner could have a strong impact in this space.

Natasha Lomas of TechCrunch reports that DocPlanner has expanded into Argentina, Austria, Bulgaria, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Germany, Turkey, Spain, France, Hungary, Indonesia, India, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Slovakia, Ukraine and South Africa. It will be interesting to see if they make a strong play in the United States.
