Here are the Important Provisions to the 2015 Medicare Fee Schedule
/The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services published the final Physician Fee Schedule rule for 2015 in November.
Among its provisions, the final rule established a chronic care management payment rate of $40.39 that can be billed once a month per qualified patient. The CMS also confirmed that services can be sent to Medicare beneficiaries via telehealth, annual wellness visits, psychotherapy services, and prolonged evaluation and management services.
The rule also includes specifications on electronic reporting of Clinical Quality Measures under the EHR Incentive program. According to CY 2015, eligible professionals will not be required to confirm that their EHR technology is re-certified to the most recent version of the electronic CQM specs.
After April 1st 2015, physician pay under Medicare will drop 21%, unless Congress creates a solution for the Sustainable Growth Rate formula. If no adjustment occurs, the conversion factor determined by the Physician Fee Schedule will drop from $35.80 to $28.22.
