One Medical Group Enhances App with Digital Dermatology

In the few years since it was founded, One Medical Group has raised over $100 million to expand its services to 27 cities nationwide and continues to disrupt primary care, making it more and more convenient for healthcare consumers. The startup created its own electronic medical record with doctors and patients in mind, not solely for administrators. Members are charged a $145-199 annual fee for various convenient aspects including same-day appointments that can be made online.

Recently One Medical Group added a new feature to its mobile app that allows members to get expert step-by-step evaluation for common dermatological issues. Members answer a few questions about their symptoms and take a few photos of their skin issue, which are submitted for clinical review by One Medical’s dermatology team who respond in 48 hours with a diagnosis. The app is not meant for treating any serious skin problems, but does help to identity simpler things or to know if an in-person appointment is necessary to solve the issue. It is also more convenient to use the app to get treatment for seasonal allergies, track medical history or request prescription renewals, which allows for a more seamless and quality healthcare experience.
