Potential Healthcare Mergers and Acquisitions to Watch in 2015

The healthcare partnerships and mergers that are expected to take place in 2015 are essential to the Affordable Care Act, and its goal to reduce the amount of money spent annually on healthcare in the US.

Two of largest hospital systems in Albany, New York, St. Peter's Health Partners and Ellis Medicine, are forming a regional network. More than 80 companies in the area are expected to join the network.

Health insurers are also creating their own partnerships, as the Affordable Care Act has heightened competition. CDPHP and Independent Health are pursuing a partnership, in order to share services and resources to compete with larger insurance companies.
