The VA Reveals Their New Structure

This reorganization establishes an agency-wide customer service organization that will give “top level customer service to veterans,” McDonald stated.

The reorganization is in response to one of the biggest scandals in the VA’s history. Over ten thousand veterans around the US waited months to receive healthcare. The scandal caused the resignation of former VA Secretary Eric Shinseki and the criticism of the agency.

McDonald said the reorganization directly “responds to the needs and concerns of veterans that I hear around Connecticut,” but that “real action” would be required to “provide nimble, world-class, patient-centered care and services.”
