Hackers Breach Into Healthcare.gov

An article from the Wall Street Journal reveals a hacker managed to breach into Healthcare.gov, the ACA enrollment website, this past July. Representatives from the website state there was no evidence the hacker accessed the personal data of users of the website.

According to the article, the “prospect nevertheless raised concerns among federal officials because of how easily the intruder gained access and how much damage could have occurred.”

Since healthcare websites contain the private details of many patients, they are becoming an increasingly common target for hackers. Physicians must take the necessary steps to ensure their electronic health records and other online aren’t breached.
