Mayo Clinic Switches to Epic for a Single Integrated EHR System

Mayo Clinic chose to use Epic as its EHR system. Epic will employ a single integrated EHR and revenue cycle management system to replace the Mayo Clinic's current three EHR systems. More than 45,000 Mayo Clinic staff will be trained in Epic's EHR system, and the system is planned to be in effect by 2017. According to Dr. Dawn Milliner, Mayo's chief medical information officer, the Mayo Clinic is hopeful that this system will accelerate innovation, enhance services and provide a better experience for their patients.
