Nurse Practitioners Salaries Rise 10% since 2011

Salaries are increasing for nurse practitioners, as there is an ominous shortage in physicians, and providers are relying more on "extender" staff to improve access to care. According to a report by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the average annual income for nurse practitioners has increased by 10% since 2011. Nurse practitioners who work more than 35 hours a week have seen their salaries increase to $97,000 from $91,000 in 2011.
