A survey conducted by WebMD and Medscape found “84% of patients and 69% of physicians said they embrace technology to enhance and aid the diagnostic process.” A majority of both groups said a “smartphone can be a useful diagnostic tool in regard to blood tests.”

The rapid integration of technology into medicine is one of the most drastic changes occurring in the healthcare. Not only can doctors use new technology to decrease internal costs and provide better diagnostics, but it also gives “patients more power to take charge of their healthcare.”
