Physician Reimbursement is Up 3% As a Result of ACA

An analysis by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation concluded that primary care physicians in states that did non expand Medicaid saw reimbursement increase 3.3%, while in states that expanded Medicaid saw reimbursement increase by 3.0%.

Additionally, reimbursement increased by 4.0% for surgeons in non-expansion states, while reimbursement increased by 2.0% in expansion states. The number of patient visits to physician offices has been flat, but physicians are able to make up lost revenue by treating patients with more complex medical conditions.
